Join us at Kindred for a cozy herbal workshop, where we'll brew and taste different herbal allies. Each week focuses on a different medicinal theme, we'll talk about preparation and brew a variety of herbs to sample so you can find what you like and feels supportive! Join us for one, or all!

What You'll Learn and Do:

Week 1: Nervines - Nervine herbs are a category of plants that support the nervous system. Often used to support the body in times of normal muscle tension, circular thoughts, occasional sleeplessness, and day-to-day worries.

Week 2: Digestion - Many of our body's functions come down to proper digestion and nutrient assimilation. Herbs work with your body’s own rhythm. We'll talk about herbs that can help relieve gas and abdominal bloating, stimulate digestive juices and enzyme activity, or soothe the intestinal walls and calm the GI tract.

Week 3: Sleep - Disturbed sleep is more than an inconvenience that leaves you dragging the next day: it can affect your emotional and physical health. We'll talk about herbs that can support better quantity and quality sleep - all with little to no side effects like you might experience with over-the-counter medicine.

Week 4: Respiratory - Our respiratory system is in constant conversation with our environment. The impact that herbs have on respiratory health is mostly centered on maintaining your body's self-cleaning function by supporting healthy mucus in the mouth, throat and digestive tract, as well as aiding or suppressing the expulsion of that mucus.

Week 5: Immunity - Herbs contain potent antioxidants that help protect against free radicals, which can damage cells and weaken the immune system. Herbs can help boost your body's ability to fight off infection, shorten the time you're sick as well as provide support for anything from a scratchy throat to respiratory infection.

This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in diving in to individual herbs and becoming more familiar with their benefits and uses. Plant medicine is the people's medicine.

What You’ll Do in This Local Herbalism Class:

  • Taste & Compare: We'll sample several different herbs each week that fit within the category we're talking about.

  • Customized Blend: Each week we'll have a custom-made Kindred blend to share using some of our favorites. We'll be sending you home with your very own blend!
