Astragalus Root, Astragalus membranaceus ~ Sweet and nourishing, this root is known in Chinese as huang qi, or “yellow leader,” because the root is considered a superior tonic herb. Traditional uses include addressing fatigue, lack of appetite, and general weakness. It is considered a food herb, generally safe for regular use, and considered by Eastern tradition and western herbalists to be an immune tonic.
