Our Soy Wax is perfect for crafting high-quality container candles and tealights, especially if you live in or ship to warmer climates like eastern Washington/Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, or during hot summer months. With a melting point of 113°-118°F, this wax is versatile and reliable, ensuring your candles stay intact even in higher temperatures.
Why Choose Soy Wax?
- Warm-Climate Friendly: Ideal for hot regions, offering stability in warmer conditions.
- Versatile Applications: Perfect for container candles and tealights. For wax melts, add a softer oil (e.g., coconut oil) for best results.
- Fragrance Capacity: Supports a fragrance load of 5-10%, giving you flexibility in scent strength.
How to Use Soy Wax
- Melting: Heat the wax to 175°F. Avoid extended heating above 200°F to prevent scorching and discoloration.
- Stirring: Stir frequently during melting to ensure even heat distribution.
-
Adding Fragrance/Color: Cool wax to 175°F before adding fragrance, essential oils, or dyes. Lower temperatures help retain scent quality. Stir well for 1-2 minutes to ensure even dispersion.
- Recommended fragrance load: 6-10%, depending on desired scent strength.
- Pouring: Allow the wax to cool to 135°F before pouring into containers. Ensure containers are at room temperature or slightly warmer to prevent wax from pulling away from the sides.
- Curing: Let your candle sit for at least 24 hours before burning. For optimal performance, cure for 2 weeks before lighting.
Candle Making Tips
- Candle making is an art and requires experimentation. Test each wax, wick, and fragrance combination to achieve your desired results.
- Always measure ingredients by weight and keep detailed notes for consistency and future success.
